Welcome to our website!
My name is Anne. My husband and I live on a small 6-acre farm that we call Willow Hill Farm. We're located in Bellingham, Washington - a tiny blip on the map in the far northwest corner of the United States. We have two small children - Samuel, age 3-1/2, and Benjamin, age 1.
On our farm we raise grass-fed beef cattle and rare Araucana chickens. We keep a large orchard of apple, pear, cherry, and peach trees, and also have blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. Next year we hope to expand our small vegetable garden in preparation for selling produce at our roadside stand, which we plan to have up and running in 2011.
In addition to our farm, my husband owns Bellingham Plumbing & Heating (www.bpheating.com), a small plumbing & heating service business, and Bellingham Hot Tub & Fireplace (www.bellinghamhottub.com), a retail store. We are making an effort to manufacture more of our inventory in-house, and currently are able to manufacture ductwork, custom sheet metal (including stainless), hearth pads, and fireplace mantels.
We are proponents of small local business and agriculture - we want to do what's best for our community, our environment, and our family.
This website focuses on Araucana chickens -- an extremely rare breed with unique features and quirky traits that make them impractical to raise on a commercial scale. Please take a look around our site by clicking on the links in the left-hand menu bar.
We hope you enjoy our website!
